Howdy. Monday

Howdy....
I'VE BEEN HACKED. Please do not open any links that are from me but not in my Terie's Crafts Newsletter.  This makes me so mad, because now I can't get back on AOL until Hubby gets home and resets my password for me. He keeps forgetting to give me the information so I can do it myself.  I did change my Yahoo password as soon as I realized I was hacked.  I have to double check my blogs to see if I got the messages off before someone thinks I sent that.

I got an email from one of the fellows in a Christmas Group that was a link and I know he was hacked the same way.  I'm wondering if that's where they got my email address to use it in this manner,
In the meantime. My camper is getting cleaned up and I'm able to get through some older emails and save what I want to keep and remove those that were just mass saved.  I hardly ever use Automatic because I don't want to down-load anything I'm not sure is from a friend.

02 07 13 Howdy....

Howdy.... We have water back !! Yea !!!! (No we don't, it got worse around PM and I had to turn it off again)
Now I can cook again. I was getting just a bit tired of eating out every night. letting Hubby pick the place. I did get a break from having to make all the choices all the time. Almost like childhood when Mom made all the dinner choices and we had two eat it or starve.
First off... let me go see just what I still have in the freezer to fix for tonight. I do know it's going to be something I can cook in the roaster oven since it's going to be cold and raining by the time Hubby gets home from work.
Ah, I found a Beef Roast to fix. I may just bake potatoes and open a can of green beans instead of cooking them all together. I love cooking them all together but I want a change up. I'll have to sear all the edges to it will stay tender,
I'm thinking of baking a cake to go with it. I have a few, one layer cakes I can put together easy enough before I start the roast.
I have to check our produce and see if we still have enough "good" vegetables to have a good salad.
I picked up two large bowls right before we lost water and I want to use them There's a pen/ painter that you can use on dishes then bake in the oven to set that I want to look for at Hobby Lobby Saturday, when Hubby gets off work early enough I can stop in and enjoy a short shopping trip.
I am boiling water and pouring it down the drain in hopes of getting it to open up. It worked last time. If I have to plunge it, I'm going to pick up a new plunger just for this sink.  They don't cost that much.
Ugh.. the dogs.... my younger daughter called me a bit earlier that usual and I rushed into the camper to answer the phone. Usually the dogs go in first.. because I was first they all decided it was time to play jump in and out of the camper.. every time I thought I had them all in, one would go out (Usually Barney but Rocky did as well) finally I got them all out of the way so I could close the door and talk to my daughter.  It was a bit chaotic for a few minutes.
It didn't help that the cats wanted to jump in and out as well. Strips wants to come in, look around to see if there is any canned cat food offered, the leave again if there isn't.

I am hearing... The fan on the heater, water dripping in the sink. sometimes, when I'm in the back I can hear the leaking water, as well.
I have to tell you the latest on Barney the dog.
He loves his balls (toys not other) He will do anything to play ball. He has learned to play ball by himself by picking one up and dropping it.. Macon is NOT a fan of playing balls. I watched from the couch while Barney came in here and found his orange ball. Ran and got on my bed. and sat there chewing on the ball. Macon gave him a 'look' and got down in the floor between the beds and laid down.. Now.. Barney is crafty to be sure. Just as Macon was falling asleep, Barney dropped his ball ON Macon. Macon of course Jumped and looked up, Barney Jumped down and got the ball and got back up on my bed. He looked like he was saying "Oops, Sorry" to Macon as he got back on the bed and Macon laid his head back down... and just as he was falling asleep again Barney dropped the ball again, jumped down and got the ball and got back up on my bed and Macon "Looked" at him. I would say he was warning Barney to not do it again.. Macon no sooner laid his head down and Barney dropped the ball a third time, Right on Macon's head. Macon Jumped up, turned around and by then, Barney had the ball again. And I swear, Barney had a grin on his face.
Macon gave a huge ol sigh and came in and laid down by the kitchen sink. Looked at me as if to say "WHY me?" and laid his head down... and yep, Barney managed to toss the ball and hit Macon one more time. Macon picked up the ball (which disappears in his mouth when he does that) and just looked at Barney, turned around put the ball down and then laid down on it. Barney came in here, looking for another ball, couldn't find one so he picked up the red squeaky bone and started chewing on it Right by Macon's ear. Macon heaved yet another huge sigh and sat up and looked at me as if to say, "Can't you do something with this kid?" It was then that I took Barney outside to play ball for a few minutes.

Feb 5 , Howdy

Howdy.... And now that it's Mid day... Good day. We have new neighbors in the section. They came in after dark last night.

Oh OH oH.. I LOVE Whoopie... she can come put with some off the wall remarks to be sure, but today she did great.
They were talking to someone who had gotten some 2nd degree burns before Christmas and Elizabeth said something about how the grill is her husband's domain...And that she was now afraid to use the grill and was willing to let him keep that domain.. That's when Whoopie said
" Women shouldn't be afraid to do anything !! "

As much as men don't like to hear that, it's a basic truth. You don't see most men afraid to do anything. But some men are more than willing to try to make a woman feel worthless if she tries and fails instead of encouraging her to try again.

I have been so lucky though. My Husband has never discouraged me from trying something new. He's never said I can't do something just because I'm a woman. My Older brother is much the same way. We were not totally given chores based on our gender. Yes I did more dishes than my brothers did, but I didn't have to mow the grass as often. We all took out the trash, took care of the pets and picked up after ourselves. My Mom was thrilled when Thom had to take a course of Home Ec, in school and loved that I got a course in shop. I loved shop. The teacher wasn't too thrilled to be teaching a bunch of girls though, and tried his best to make it harder on us that it should have been. But then, that was back in the late 1960's and early 1970's.. Just past bra burning and just about the height of Women's Lib. I'm glade we have almost outgrown that. Many women still have to be "Super Mom".. you know they. They get up early, Cook breakfast, clean house, go off to work for 8, 10 or 12 hours a day then come home and clean house some more. And on the weekends they are frazzled because the housework they did during the week, has to be done yet again.Plus they are in charge of taking care of the kids. How sad is it.. a woman may be asked how she handles having both a job and raising kids. Hardly ever is a man asked how he handles having both a job and kids.

Jerry and I were more Traditional. Yes, I did work a few times outside the house. mostly part time jobs that were a few hours a day not 5 days a week most of the time, after the kids were born. Once Beth was born I didn't work outside the house at all except for one week. Now that the kids are out of the house, I wish I had worked at least some of the time. I'm just so blessed that Jerry is ok that I'm not out working.

My Mom never let us kids off easy. My brother's had to learn to clean house and I had to learn how to mow the grass ( when I was older) I had to watch oil changes and tire changes.. I can change both, but I'll admit I'm happy I don't HAVE to do them.
Jerry was brought up more traditional. Boys mowed every weekend. took out the trash and walked the dog. Girls cleaned the house and did the cooking and dishes. Luckily , when he and I married he realized we were both going to have to do it all, wether we liked it or now. With the kids we shifted the chores around most of the time. Each took out trash, washed dishes. did their own laundry (or, in David's case, he paid his sisters to do it for him) I have to admit I was a bit miffed when I heard from Beth that she was out changing a tire on her car while her S/O was inside playing games on the computer. Not that she can't change a tire. but that he should have at least been out there with her. That was some time ago. but it still rankles that he didn't think enough of her to want to take care of the car for her.

Outside my door ... We started off the day partly cloudy, now it's mostly cloudy. and I think the temperature is dropping a bit as well. I need to walk in the back and see if the wild brush is starting to bud. I know the other day, I saw some Daffodils blooming along the roadway in Danville. I've seen that happen before, In other areas of the country but I don't recall if it was this early in February or not.

The Dogs ... I have been folding up some laundry and I tossed a blanket over Rocky. He's still under it. Barney is in doggy jail, again. He just would not leave Macon alone. He was doing his best to make Macon play with him. I'll have to put the leads together and toss the ball for Barney later this afternoon
The Cats ... are all outside, It's warm enough that they don't want to stay inside for any amount of time at all.

From the kitchen... . We had Taco Bell for dinner. I was hoping that, Jerry would have time to work on the water leak tonight. He worked on it, but he didn't day if I should put the water on the camper or go yet one more day without water.

I am hearing... mid day news. Macon just gave out a huge sigh. or was it Barney? the fan on the heater .

I am wearing... Brown, long sleeved top with brown sweat pants.

I am reading... Exodus 35, another chapter in " 'Patchwork A Story of 'The Plain People' "

Howdy ...

Howdy ...
I wanted to see the Budweiser Commercial with the foal growing into a horse. And I missed it.

I am still without running water. The bond that Jerry used didn't set up like it was suppose to. I don't know what he's going to try next. We will have to take our water jugs up to the office and refill them tonight.
Jerry cashed his check in South Boston, He asked if there was anything I needed him to pick up. Um.. another sergur.. Ok.. Only they didn't have any in stock. That was on Saterday. Sunday, I checked at the Wal-Mart in Danville. They don't have any either but are waiting for some to come in on the truck... This more and more makes me think they Knew they had a bad batch of them. In the meantime, I can still just use my sewing machine to make the clothes I have been buying material for.
Oh. I saw some fabric I wanted for $2 a yard.... but I didn't get any because the cutting table was piled high with " Stuff ".. just boxes of stuff and my feet were hurting already. I can always go back later and get it. I just can't believe that such a mess would be made in the middle of the day. I was thinking of using the stripped material for a skirt (1700's type) and the other for a new top. Of course after i said I wasn't going to get any, I saw some $1 material that I liked, as well... oh well, their loss.
The Dogs ... I picked up three new toys for the dogs, and Barney chewed up two of them. One was a squeeky toy and the other a tennis type ball.
The Cats ... Thought they would fool us and expected us to feed them canned food twice yesterday. I fed them around noon and at 4 pm they thought they were going to get more to eat.

Jan 31

Hello ...  We are still without water in the camper. Jerry didn't even look at it last night. He came home, I got in the van and we went to Mary's for dinner. We have always seen a lot of cars at Mary's. It's served cafatiera style and Jerry has never been a fan of cafatiera's. I had two pieces of fried chicken, mac an cheese (that I gave to Jerry when he finished his food) and a 1/2 order of Lima Beans. I like Lima Beans and Jerry not so much. I picked up a salad where Jerry picked up a dessert. Believe me after I had my salad I didn't want that Mac and Cheese. But we will not be eating there again.  As I said, Jerry is not a fan of Cafatirea's. We got back to the camper. set up our shower bags, and went and got showers. Well, I can say I got wet, turned off the water, soaped up, then rinsed off as quiickly as I could cause the water is still not very warm in the showers. We came back home and almost fell into bed. I don't know if Jerry will work on the water tonight or not. I just tried to call the office to ask if they know the water is not very warm in the showers and got the answering machine. I'll call again later. I know they are trying to conserve on their power bill so they may have shut of the power to the hot water system.

Outside my door ...  It's Sunny but cool and windy.  We got lots of rain last night and the ground is soaked. We needed the rain here and I hope we get more rain just not all at one time.

The Dogs ... are sleeping. Barney in the kennel cause he would not stay out of trouble this morning. If he wasn't picking on Macon it was Rocky. when neither one would play with him he was getting into stuff. After three times of "talking" to him, I just put him in the kennel. He's just like having a toddler around. He can't tell me what he wants and wants to be in the middle of everything.

The Cats ... Tupelo is sleeping on my bed with Rocky. The other two are outside someplace.

From the kitchen... With no running water, I'm not cooking anything.

I am hearing... The TV and the heater fan. Wind in the trees every now and then. A jet once in a while.

I am wearing... Dark Gray Sweatpants and a dark blue top.

I am reading... Exodus 33.

I am hoping...  That Jerry can fix our water problems soon.

I am creating... I worked on that skirt yesterday. A few minor mishaps but nothing I couldn't take care of quickly. I now that the bottom hemmed and the two tiers sewn together. Next is the waist band I think.  Once I get the skirt done, I need to get the dress done.
